Different Types Of Refrigerants

Truecooltech is committed to promoting the use of environmentally friendly refrigerant, developing green manufacturing and promoting ecological sustainability. Here are some common refrigerants: Freon (including R22, R134a, R407C, R410A, R32, etc.), ammonia (NH3), water (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), and a few hydrocarbons (such as R290, R600a)

CO2

CO2 is a natural refrigerant with good thermodynamic performance (high volume refrigeration capacity) and environmental protection characteristics (ODP=0, GWP=1). It also has the characteristics of low subcritical circulating pressure ratio and high volumetric efficiency of compressor.

R290

R290 is a new environmentally friendly refrigerant. R290, also known as propane, has excellent thermal performance and of low price. Moreover, R290 is compatible with ordinary lubricants and mechanical structural materials, (ODP=0, low GWP) and has no direct impact on the greenhouse effect. The main physical properties of propane are very similar to those of R22. So R290 can be used as a direct substitute of R22 without reforming the R22 system.

R404a

R404 a belongs to HFC type non azeotropic environmental protection refrigerant, which does not contain CFC and HCFC that destroy the ozone layer. In addition, its safety category is A1 and conforms to the standards of EPA, snap and UL. Refrigerant R404A is the most common industrial standard refrigerant to replace freon R22 and R502 on newly installed refrigeration equipment (usually low-temperature refrigeration system), but usually R404A cannot directly replace R502 and R22.

R134

R134a has a very low toxicity and is not flammable in the air. Its safety category is A1, so it is a very safe refrigerant. R134a is an alternative refrigerant to R12. It is currently internationally recognized as one of the main refrigerant alternatives to CFC-12. It is commonly used in automotive air conditioning, commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, and can also be used to configure other mixed refrigerants, such as R 404a and R 407C.

Ps:

CFC - chlorofluorocarbon, containing chlorine and no hydrogen, is a public hazard, which seriously destroys the ozone layer and is prohibited

HCFC - hydrochlorofluorocarbons, chlorine and hydrogen containing, low pollution substances are transitional substances

HFC - hydrofluorocarbon, chlorine free, pollution-free, can be used as a substitute

HC - hydrocarbon, chlorine free, fluorine free, pollution-free, can be used as a substitute
